.. the system is promoted commercially by Halcrow Group Ltd who have the world-wide licence to operate and develop the system. The original concept was jointly researched and patented by the Universities of Aberdeen and Bradford.

The GRANIT system works by applying axially, a small impulse through a impact device to the tendon. The vibrational response is captured through an accelerometer linked to the computer in the field equipment.

This data is transferred and then analysed using several techniques at the GRANIT head office in the UK. The results are posted into the client's secure folder on the project website.
